Prices include boat, paddle, spraydeck where necessary, buoyancy aid.

We can also provide:  Cag £3 per day, Dry bag £2 per day, Expedition leader pack (pump, compass, split paddle) £10 per trip.

If you require the boats to be taken to the water we will do so if we are available.
Rates:
£5 each way to deliver or collect to local beach/campsite (£10 del/coll).
£10 each way to deliver or collect other than to local beach and within a 7 mile radius (includes Mallaig) - (£20 del/coll).
Outwith this by prior agreement at £1.50 per mile.

N.B. Our single sea kayaks are only suitable for adults or older teenagers.

EQUIPMENT NOT RETURNED ON TIME WILL BE CHARGED AT THE DAY RATE

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

We DO NOT hire out KAYAKS or CANOES to complete beginners or inexperienced paddlers unless paddling with someone competent who is taking responsibility for their safety. You must assure us of your personal competence and inform us where you intend using the kayak. Hire is subject to availability. If you have limited or no experience why not try one of our Guided Trips or Coached Sessions.

You are responsible for your own and the rest of your group's safety. Hirers are fully responsible for the kayak and equipment throughout the hire period and must ensure that THEY ARE PERSONALLY INSURED for any injuries. Any loss or damage to any of our equipment must be paid for in full at the end of hire period.

CANCELLATION - no charge for cancellation up to 7 days prior to hire. Within 7 days you may be charged up to full amount if we are unable to re-hire. If weather conditions are unsuitable for the ability of the hirer or group, we or you may cancel the hire at short notice without penalty at our discretion. SKH reserves the right to cancel a hire if it is deemed that weather conditions are beyond the apparent overall competencey of the group or individual. Once a hire is started no refund will be given.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• A roof rack and straps to securely tie on boats (unless arranged for transport).
• Suitable waterproof and windproof clothing.
• Drinking water and food.
• Emergency communication device.
• Local area map of the area you intend to paddle. We have some laminated local area maps you can borrow.
